Powering this C2 is a period-correct 327/340hp V8 Engine, noted as the L76. This is mated to a 4-Speed Manual Transmission, with power ultimately being sent to the rear wheels. The C2 generation of Corvette saw a major leap from the design of the previous C1 generation. This was the onset of popularity for one of the most iconic names in sports car history: the Stingray. A new sleek and aerodynamic design adorned the C2 generation of Corvette, featuring compound-curved side windows, graceful yet more muscular fender and body lines, and power-retractable headlamps. A stronger, more rigid frame was introduced, with the center of gravity being dropped over 2" compared to the previous generation with the use of a ladder-type frame. Plus, weight distribution shifted to put more than half of the vehicle's weight over the rear wheels, making for much quicker mobility when cornering. Independent Four Wheel Suspension, an Extended-life Exhaust System, and Hydraulic Self-adjusting Brakes were all also added for the C2 generation, marking several mechanical improvements aside from the new cosmetic-yet-functional design.
